Osama bin Laden has just released a new audio message according to "US sources", and just like other famous artists who release posthumous recordings such as Tupac, Elvis and Nat King Cole, the mainstream media are hyping bin Laden's new release with a flurry of teasers to ensure maximum commercial success.
On May 16 2008, Reuters reported that bin Laden released an audio tape to an Al Qaeda website to mark Israel's 60th anniversary of independence. While it is not surprising that a Muslim extremist would issue a statement to the press denouncing Israel's right to exist and promising attacks ect. ect, it is surprising that Osama bin Laden continues to release these audio and video messages from far beyond the grave. Even more surprising is why the Western media continues to push and promote these audio and video tapes as though they are real.
Analysis of the 2007 'fake beard' Osama bin Laden video tape.
Osama bin Laden has been reported to have died by numerous news agencies from around the world on different occasions, including FOX News. On December 26, 2001, FOX News reported on bin Ladens death:
"The Coalition troops are engaged in a mad search operation but they would never be able to fulfill their cherished goal of getting Usama alive or dead," the source said. Bin Laden, according to the source, was suffering from a serious lung complication and succumbed to the disease in mid-December, in the vicinity of the Tora Bora mountains."
In an interview with the recently assassinated former Prime Minister of Pakistan, Benazir Bhutto claimed in an interview with David Frost that Osama bin Laden had been murdered. The interview quickly went viral on the internet after her death.
Many mainstream news sources such as Time Magazine and New York Times have all previously raised the question of whether Osama bin Laden is in fact alive or dead, and in July of 2006 the CIA even disbanded 'Alec Station', the unit that was formed to hunt bin Laden.
Well, choose whichever story of Osama bin Laden's demise that you want, but at the end of the day, there seems to be more evidence that bin Laden is dead. And that just like many other recent Al Qaeda audio/video tapes, the is media reporting that this particular audio tape could not be verified for authenticity.
"The authenticity of the tape could not immediately be verified but the voice sounded like bin Laden's. A U.S. official in Washington said the tape was being reviewed to establish if it was genuinely from bin Laden but the content came as no surprise."
