"The illusion of freedom will continue as long as it's profitable to continue the illusion. At the point where the illusion becomes too expensive to maintain, they will just take down the scenery, they will pull back the curtains, they will move the tables and chairs out of the way, and you will see the brick wall at the back of the theatre." - Frank Zappa

Behind the scenes of the upcoming 2008 election, there is small war brewing and the battle lines have now been established. The two sides consist of the people who have had enough of this phony, pro-war left/right paradigm on one side, and the phony left/right media itself on the other.

The war is analogous to the battle of David and Goliath, where a small, but efficient and dangerous soldier verses an tired, old but powerful giant. YouTube, the internet, and your average American citizen is that tiny soldier and FOX, CNN, defense contractors and the entire pro-war establishment represents Goliath. The feud was established for one reason:
Texas Republican Presidential Candidate Ron Paul.

The mainstream media has done everything it can to censor and exclude Ron Paul from the 2008 Presidential election process largely because of his anti-war, anti-Federal Reserve and pro-Constitutionalist views.
Paul's unique stance on these issues, which are the backbone of his campaign, have ignited people from all across the board, from conservatives who have lost faith in the Republican Party, to liberals who disapprove of the Democratically elected Congress and everyone in between.

While his October 30, 2007 appearance on Jay Leno helped to spark national interest and exposure, the Ron Paul mania officially kicked off on November 5, 2007 when an organizer, completely independent of the Paul campaign, raised over 4.2 million dollars in one day, breaking all GOP records for a single day's fund raising ever. The fund raiser was based on the movie "V For Vendetta" and a historical anarchist named Guy Fawkes, who on November 5, 1605, attempted to set bomb the British House of Parliament and overthrow the government.

The media outlets had to acknowledge this accomplishment, but they did so begrudgingly. This put network news outlets in a tough spot, because now they had been officially exposed deliberately excluding Ron Paul from proper and accurate news coverage. Previously there had been many attempts by
online journalists to smear Paul with outrageous accusations of his campaign using spambots, hacking online polls and spewing false claims of racism. As they were unable to gain any traction with their skeptical readers, their frustration and desperation became increasingly desperate. The following video is an example of why the mainstream media outlets are no longer relevant and why their credibility and ratings are in the toilet.

As you can see, the mainstream media outlets use trickery, deception and outright fraud to manipulate popular opinion. It doesn't matter if you are a liberal or a conservative; the media is there only to give you what appears to be two choices, and silence any opposition which threatens their status quo. This should be blatantly apparent, especially when take into account that President Bush has a 29% approval rating, Vice President Dick Cheney with a 9% approval rating and the Democratic controlled Congress at 12%.

The bottom line here is of course money and war. If you look on the left side of the political spectrum, Hillary Clinton is now being backed by the same same organizations who funded Bush for the past two elections. These organizations consist of Lockheed Martin, Raytheon, and Boeing, have a stake in the continuation of the Iraq war and starting the Iran war conflict. Clinton herself said that if she is elected that she would not even consider troop withdraw until after her first term 2013. It should also be noted that true anti-war Democrat candidates like Mike Gravel and Dennis Kucinch get little if any
coverage at all.

The conservative right is even wackier. Rudy Giuliani is the so called front runner of the Republican party, is pro-war. Guliani's support comes from the typical so-called Christian conservative, anti-abortion right (even though Giuliani is pro-abortion and pro-gay marriage). All of the other Republican candidates take a strong pro-war stance and want to use airs trikes on another innocent country. as well. It is no surprise that the Republicans, who have long since been based on family values, have nothing else to run their campaigns on besides war and terror due to the many GOP sex scandals and the corruption over the course of Bush's tenure as president.

So to recap, we either have war with Clinton or war with Giuliani. Take your pick America. Both candidates, already wrought with scandals, are for all practical purposes, completely unelectable. The mainstream media is in a very, very tough spot now. They know the public is not buying into the campaigns of either Rudy Giuliani or Hillary Clinton so they have no choice but to roll out the big guns of propaganda against any real competition. In a shocking display that reeked of desperation, Glen Beck took an opportunity to label Ron Paul supporters as potential terrorists and a domestic threat to the US!

This bold attack on Ron Paul is particularly disgusting and irresponsible considering the scope and size of their viewer ship. It is also very insulting to his audience to see a national syndicated TV and radio talk show host stoop to this level of defamation against a group of people who have not committed any offenses at all.
Stephen Dupont , a former decorated Marine, was prompted to send Glenn Beck and CNN an e-mail in response to the nature of the broadcast. In it, Dupont compared his time spent in the service to Beck's time being an alcoholic struggling with drug addiction. Dupont also informed the networks that he would no longer be supporting the network's sponsors and made a call for others to do the same.

My plea to you is to take a serious look into the donating to the Ron Paul campaign, and if you can't support him, at least consider voting for him when the time comes. Another independent internet campaign fund raiser is scheduled for December 16, 2007 with a goal to double the amount of donations received on November 5. This date commemorates the infamous Boston Tea Party, when American colonists protested oppressive taxes by dumping tea into the harbor. We Americans have truly come full circle with our oppressors and while Ron Paul alone may not be able to end it, there are many people who believe he is the only chance we've got to reclaim an America which is based on the Constitution.
